How do I access BoardWorks Chat?
BoardWorks Chat allows you to communicate directly with other BoardWorks users from within the app.
To access BoardWorks Chat:
Open the BoardWorks app.
Navigate to the Chats section.
Existing conversations appear in the Channels list.
Select a conversation to view message history and continue the discussion.
How do I start a new chat?
To start a new conversation:
Open BoardWorks Chat.
Tap the New Chat icon
Select the user(s) you want to message.
Tap Create to create the new channel.
Enter your message.
Send the message.
The new conversation appears in your Channels list.
How do I send a message?
To send a message in an existing conversation:
Open the conversation.
Tap the message field at the bottom of the screen.
Enter your message.
Tap the paper plane icon to send the message.
Your message will appear in the conversation thread.
How do I view my conversations?
All conversations are displayed in the Channels list.
From the Channels list, you can:
View recent conversations
Open existing chats
Review message history
Continue previous conversations
The most recent activity typically appears at the top of the list.
How do I view chat details?
To view information about a conversation:
Open the conversation.
Tap the Information icon.
Depending on your organization's configuration, additional conversation details may be available.
How do I share photos, videos, and files in BoardWorks Chat?
BoardWorks Chat allows you to share photos, videos, media, and files with other users.
To add an attachment:
Open a chat conversation.
Tap the Add Attachment icon next to the message field.
Select one of the available options:
Take a Photo
Take a Video
Upload Media
Files
Select or create the content you want to share.
Send your message.
The attachment will be added to the conversation and available to the recipient.
Attachment Options:
Option | Description |
Take a Photo | Use your device camera to capture and send a photo. |
Take a Video | Use your device camera to record and send a video. |
Upload Media | Select existing photos or videos from your device. |
Files | Select and share files stored on your device. |
Note: Your iPad may prompt you to grant BoardWorks permission to access the camera, photos, or files before sharing content.
What should I know about BoardWorks Chat?
BoardWorks Chat is available on the iPad, iPhone and Android apps.
Chat conversations are organized in the Channels list.
Messages can be viewed and replied to directly within the app.
BoardWorks Chat is not available in the BoardWorks Windows app or the BoardWorks web portal.
