BoardWorks Menus

Quick Overview of each menu in BoardWorks

BoardWorks is organized into a simple to use menu on the left side of the portal that provide access to different functions across the platform. These menu items are always available and help users to quickly find tools they need.

Available menus in BoardWorks

  • Search – Use Search to find meetings, evaluations, documents, and other content across BoardWorks. Search helps users quickly locate information without navigating through individual menus.

  • Meeting & Events – Use Meetings & Events to manage board meetings and scheduled events.

    Administrators can:

    • Create and schedule meetings and events

    • Manage meeting details, dates, and attendees

    All users can:

    • Access past and upcoming meetings and events

    • Review meeting information and related materials

  • Admin – The Admin menu is available only to administrators and is used to manage users, committees, office groups and system settings.

    Administrators can:

    • Create, disable or users

    • Run reports

    • Reset user passwords

    • Edit user account information

    • Manage user roles

    • Create committees and manage committee memberships

    • Create officer groups and manage officer group memberships

    • Manage Microsoft 365 and Docusign Integrations

    • Use remote wipe tools

  • Alerts – Use Alerts to communicate important information to users.

    Administrators can:

    • Create and publish email notifications

    • Send announcements related to meetings, events, or system updates

  • Documents – Use Documents to manage and collaborate on board materials.

    Users can:

    • Access the documents library

    • Collaborate on shared documents

    Administrators can:

    • Create and manage signature requests

    • Control access to documents and workspaces

  • EvaluationsEvaluations is a flexible tool that administrators can use to create a wide range of board‑critical assessments and workflows.

    Administrators can use Evaluations to create items such as:

    • D&O questionnaires

    • Surveys

    • Board and director performance evaluations

    • Voting and other decision‑support activities

    Evaluations can be configured in a variety of ways, including:

    • Anonymous results

    • Conditional and follow‑up questions

    • Attached documents for review

    Results can be viewed graphically (pie and bar charts), tracked over time, or exported from BoardWorks in various formats.

  • SurveysSurveys allows administrators to create surveys and directors to respond to them. Surveys remains available to all clients in BoardWorks. For new surveys and more advanced evaluation needs, administrators are encouraged to use Evaluations, which offers expanded functionality and greater flexibility for configuring and analyzing results.

  • Voting – Use Voting to support formal board decision‑making.

    Administrators can:

    • Create votes

    • Attach documents to a vote

    • Track and export voting results

    Directors can:

    • Review voting materials

    • Cast votes within BoardWorks from the portal or mobile apps

  • Links – Use Links to provide quick access to external resources.

    Administrators can add useful URLs for directors to access, such as external tools, reference sites, or related resources.

  • Profiles – Use Profiles to view and manage user information.

    Directors and Administrators can:

    • View and edit their own profile

    • View the profiles of other directors

    Administrators can:

    • View and edit anyone's profile
