Managing My Profile and Settings on the Windows App

This section explains how to view and update your profile and account settings in the BoardWorks Windows app.

How do I view and edit my profile?

To access your profile:

  1. Click your name or profile icon in the top‑right corner of the app

  2. Select View Profile

To edit your profile:

  1. Select Edit Profile

  2. Update the fields as needed

  3. Click Done on the top left of the screen.

Your profile may include information such as your contact details, title, company, and other relevant information.

How do I add or update my profile picture?

To add or change your profile picture:

  1. Click your profile icon and select View Profile.

  2. Click Edit.

  3. Click your profile picture on the top right of the screen

  4. Click Capture from device or Choose from Gallery

  5. Click Done.

Your new profile picture will be displayed on your profile.

How do I change my password?

To change your password:

  1. Open the main menu.

  2. Select Settings on the bottom left of the screen

  3. Select My Account.

  4. Select Password.

  5. Enter your current password, new password, and confirm the new password.

  6. Click Save.

Note: Your password must meet the required complexity rules.

How do I change my security question?

To update your security question:

  1. Open the main menu.

  2. Select Settings on the bottom left of the screen

  3. Select My Account.

  4. Select Security Question.

  5. Enter your new security question and answer.

  6. Click Save.

Your security question is used to help verify your identity if you need to reset your password.

How do I manage Sync Preferences?

Sync Preferences allow you to control how much data is synced and how often the app updates content.

To update your sync preferences:

  1. Open the main menu

  2. Select Settings

  3. Locate the Sync Preference section

From here, you can adjust the following:

  • Amount
    Select how much historical content (for example, meetings and documents) is synced to your device

  • Frequency
    Set how often the app checks for updates and synchronizes content

  • Connection
    Choose whether syncing occurs:

    • On Wi‑Fi Only, or

    • Wi-Fi and Mobile Network

Adjust these settings as needed. Changes are applied automatically.

What is the About section?

The About section provides general information about the app and access to additional resources.

To access it:

  1. Open the main menu

  2. Select Settings

  3. Locate the About section

From here, you can view or access:

  • Help
    Opens the BoardWorks FAQs

  • Background Image
    Enables or disables the background image displayed in the app

  • Version
    Displays the current version of the BoardWorks app installed on your device

  • Privacy Policy
    Provides access to BoardWorks privacy information

What does “Forget This Account” do?

The Forget This Account option resets the app and removes your account from the device.

To use this option:

  1. Open the main menu

  2. Select Settings

  3. Select My Account

  4. Select Forget This Account

This action:

  • Removes your account from the app

  • Clears locally stored data

  • Requires you to log in again

Note: Forgetting your account is also a useful troubleshooting step if you are experiencing sync issues. When you log in again, the app performs a full sync, which restores your content and any previously saved annotations.
