Signing Documents on iPad

This section explains how to access and complete Signature Requests in the BoardWorks iPad app. Signature Requests allow you to review and sign documents directly within BoardWorks using your iPad.

How do I access Signature Requests?

To access your Signature Requests:

  1. Tap the menu icon in the top-left corner of the screen.

  2. Select Signature Requests.

The Signature Requests section displays two categories:

  • Pending – Signature Requests that still require your action.

  • Completed – Signature Requests that have already been signed and submitted.

How do I review a Signature Request Document?

To review a Signature Request:

  1. Open Signature Requests.

  2. Tap a request listed under Pending.

  3. Review the document before signing.

You should carefully review the document contents before applying your signature.

How do I add my signature?

To sign a document:

  1. Tap the checkmark icon at the bottom of the screen to open the signature menu.

  2. Select Sign.

  3. Tap the location on the document where you want your signature to appear.

The Add Signature panel will open.

You can choose from the following signature methods:

Draw a signature

Use your finger or stylus to draw your signature directly on the screen.

Upload an image

Select an existing image of your signature from your device.

Type your signature

Enter your name and apply it as a formatted signature.

After creating or selecting your signature:

  1. If desired, choose a different signature color.

  2. Tap Add.

Your signature will be inserted into the document.

After inserting the signature, you can reposition it within the signature area and resize it as needed before submitting the document.

Can I change my signature before adding it?

Yes.

While creating a signature, tap Clear Signature to remove the current signature and create a new one.

Once you are satisfied with the signature, tap Add to place it in the document.

Can I reject a Signature Request?

Yes.

If you are unable to sign the document:

  1. Open the Signature Request.

  2. Tap Reject.

  3. Confirm the action if prompted.

The request owner will be notified that the Signature Request was rejected.

How do I submit a signed document?

To finalize and submit the signed document:

  1. Review the signed document.

  2. Tap Accept.

  3. Confirm the action if prompted.

BoardWorks will submit the Signature Request and display a confirmation message indicating that your response has been submitted.

Once submitted:

  • The Signature Request will move from Pending to Completed.

  • The request will no longer require action.

  • Your signature becomes a permanent part of the document.

Note: Note: Once submitted, your signature will be embedded into the document, become a permanent part of the document, and the request can no longer be modified.

How do I know if a Signature Request has been completed?

The Signature Requests section separates requests into two categories:

  • Pending – Requests that still require your action.

  • Completed – Requests that have already been signed and submitted.

Once a Signature Request has been completed, it will appear under Completed.

What if I am not ready to sign?

If you close the document before selecting Accept, the Signature Request will remain under Pending.

You can return to the request later and continue the signing process.

What you can do next

After completing a Signature Request, you can:

  • Return to the Dashboard

  • Continue reviewing meetings and documents

  • Complete additional Signature Requests

  • Access Reference Documents

  • Continue preparing for upcoming meetings
