Alerts provide important information that has been flagged for your attention by your BoardWorks Administrator. Alerts are used to highlight updates, announcements, or time‑sensitive information you should review.
How do I view an alert from an email?
When an alert is created, you may receive an email notification similar to the example shown below.
The email:
Identifies the related meeting or topic.
Explains that new information is available in BoardWorks and includes any details the Administrator wishes to include
Includes a button labeled Open BoardWorks which will open the Alert
To view the alert:
Select Open BoardWorks from the email.
If you are already logged in to BoardWorks, the alert opens immediately.
If you are not logged in, you will be prompted to sign in, and the alert opens after login.
How do I view alerts from within BoardWorks?
You can also access alerts directly from within the BoardWorks web portal.
To view alerts:
From the Dashboard, select Alerts from the main navigation menu.
A list of all published alerts is displayed.
Select the alert title to open and review the alert details.
The selected alert opens and displays the full alert details.
What you should know about alert emails
Alert emails notify you that new or updated information is available in BoardWorks.
The email itself does not contain the full alert content or attachments. To view the alert and any associated materials, you must open the alert in BoardWorks.
Alerts with attached documents
Alerts may include documents attached directly to the alert, such as agendas or supporting materials.
When an alert includes an attachment:
The document appears as a clickable link within the alert details in BoardWorks.
Selecting the link opens the document for review in BoardWorks.
Depending on your browser and document type, you can view the document online or download it.
Attachments are accessible only after opening the alert in BoardWorks, not from the email notification.]
Important notes about alert attachments
Alert emails notify you that information is available but do not include attachments.
All alert attachments must be accessed by opening the alert in BoardWorks.
Documents attached to alerts are separate from meeting Board Books, unless otherwise noted.
